Athina Luxury Suites: Five Reasons to Visit Santorini in March

One of the most popular destinations in Greece, Santorini is known for its stunning views, picturesque whitewashed villages on cliffs, blue-domed churches, beautiful beaches and excellent wines.

And while it’s a fact that thousands of tourists from all over the world flock to the Greek island every summer, Santorini can be visited all year round and especially during the month of March.

One may ask, “Why?”

The reasons

Panagiotis Inglesis*, co-owner and general manager of the Athina Luxury Suites boutique hotel, tells us that there is something “extra special” about visiting Santorini in March and gives us the following reasons:

1. Mild Weather: March marks the transition from winter to spring, making it an ideal time to visit Santorini. The weather is warm, but not too hot, allowing visitors to enjoy all that the island has to offer without feeling too uncomfortable. Temperatures usually range from the mid-50s to mid-60s Fahrenheit, making it perfect for outdoor activities such as hiking and exploring the many villages on the island.
2. Less Crowds: While Santorini is a popular destination, March is considered the off-season. This means that there are fewer tourists, making it easier to experience the island’s true charm. From quieter beaches to more relaxed restaurants, March is a great time to visit Santorini if you’re looking for a more low-key vacation.
3. Unique Events: March is also a time for unique events on the island. For example, the Greek Orthodox Church celebrates the Feast of Saint Gerasimos on the first Sunday of March. This celebration features a procession of the Saint’s icon throughout the streets of Oia and is a truly unique experience.

4. Stunning Scenery: Finally, one of the biggest reasons to visit Santorini in March is the stunning scenery. With the winter rains behind us, the island is covered in a blanket of green, making it even more beautiful than usual. The sunsets over the caldera are truly breathtaking, and the views from the villages of Oia and Fira are not to be missed.
5. Athina Luxury Suites: If you’re looking for a luxurious and comfortable stay in Santorini, Athina Luxury Suites is the perfect place for you. Located in the heart of Fira, the capital of the island, our stunning hotel offers breathtaking views of the caldera and the Aegean Sea. With its spacious suites, excellent facilities, and personalized service, Athina Luxury Suites is the perfect place to relax and recharge during your visit to Santorini.

In conclusion, there are many reasons to visit Santorini in March. From the mild weather and fewer crowds to the unique events and stunning scenery, this is the perfect time to experience all that this beautiful island has to offer. Whether you’re looking for a low-key vacation or an adventure-filled getaway, Santorini in March is sure to exceed your expectations.

The island of Santorini, one of Greece’s most popular tourism spots, has been named the World’s Most Romantic Cruise Destination for Valentine’s Day, according to Panache Cruises.

Founded by cruise industry veteran James Cole in 2020, Panache Cruises is a British luxury cruise agency specializing in elite ocean, river, expedition and yacht-style cruising.

Taking into consideration a 200 percent, on last year, increase of Valentine’s Day cruise bookings, the company’s luxury cruise experts decided to name the top ten most romantic spots around the world where couples can enjoy time off surrounded by picturesque settings.

According to Panache Cruises’ list, Santorini is the top cruise destination in the world where one can offer their loved one an unforgettable Valentine’s Day.

Praised by the company’s experts for its “incredible views and sunsets, beautiful, blue-domed white houses built on cliff sides and the brilliant blue Aegean Sea”, Santorini is called “a perfect spot for a romantic getaway”.

Furthermore, the island is hailed for its many activities options like strolling around its villages, going wine tasting and visiting one of Greece’s best-known volcano.

Santorini, Greece.

Venice, Italy and the Maldives follow Greece on the list, with Paris, France and Kauai in Hawaii rounding up the top 5.

“These are places around the world that offer enchanting settings that are bound to make you and your other half swoon,” said Cole adding that a cruise with your loved one in one of these destinations is “one of the most romantic experiences you can give them”.

Santorini was also recently named a top Greek luxury destination as well as one of the most popular winter honeymoon choices across the globe.

Luxury Travel: Athens, Mykonos and Santorini are a Must

The AthensMykonosSantorini trio of Greek destinations remains a popular choice among independent luxury travelers to Greece, according to US – based, destination management company Eurobound.

Specializing in providing luxury tailor-made European tours packages, Eurobound predicts that travelling to Europe will continue its momentum in 2023 but gives a note of caution for last-minute bookings.

According to the DMC’s President Brigitte Armand, many hotels are already booked up for 2023 high season and clients should not delay confirming their trips “or they may risk being left out completely”.

Looking into 2023 travel trends, Eurobound’s Sales & Marketing Vice President Jeff Roy notes that there is a bigger interest in traditional destinations like Italy, France, Switzerland and Greece, rather than adventure travel.

More specifically, Roy sees “classical European destinations and the grand tour of Europe getting back in style”, citing country pairings like France and the UK, Ireland and Scotland, Spain and Portugal, Germany and Austria, and Switzerland and Austria, among the most popular.

“Within countries, popular trios are Athens, Mykonos and Santorini in Greece; Rome, Florence, and Venice in Italy; and Paris in combinations with Champagne, Bordeaux, Normandy, or the French Riviera in France,” adds Roy.

Other 2023 travel trends, according to Eurobound, include honeymoon, anniversary and family vacations, as well as food and wine tourism which will continue to be a major attraction for US travelers.

At the same time Roy, gives his note of caution for 2023’s global travel forecast, since “hotel prices have risen considerably, and clients may not be as willing to trade up”.

Τι μάθαμε στο Santorini Revenue Masterclass 2022 by Revitup

Ryan.

How To Make The Most Of Two Days in Santorini

I’ve been travelling for a while now.

I’ve been to nine different countries, seen countless museums, castles and historic buildings. After so much travel that bright-eyed wonder you had when you first begun starts to wear off. It’s still amazing, yet you lack the awe you had when you first started. But not with Santorini. There’s nothing like the Greek Islands to make you feel reinvigorated.

When you’re waiting to exit the ferry, that ramp comes down excruciatingly slowly. But then you see it. The dark volcanic rock that towers out of the sea, with a dusting of those iconic white houses. And let me tell you, the sea really is as blue as it looks in the pictures. There’s only one problem. What do you do if you only have two days!?
